Environmental care - Up to 100% recovered paper

Until the 1970s Huhtamaki Molded Fiber made its packaging from biologically recyclable raw materials such as ground wood fibre and cellulose, supplemented with recovered paper.

These days all plants use almost exclusively pre- or post consumer recovered paper, now considered being an important contribution to environmental care in modern day packaging.

This makes the circle complete: production of environmentally friendly packaging, use by the consumer, and return in the form of collected recovered paper to be recycled again.

The recycling circle is in full agreement with health regulations, prescribing the use of clean raw material and waste regulations which signify the primary importance of waste reduction and recycling.

Moreover, moulded fibre packaging can be composted. At the end of its lifecycle, biodegradable moulded fibre decomposes and re-enters the natural cycle. The material in moulded fibre is not removed from or added to nature. It merely is borrowed for a while.
